Hours become days, cares wash away, as the kingfishers dart through the bamboo. The lovely, languid Bali of old, in a gorgeous, green valley alongside a sacred river ...
This is Villa Shanti Sari.
Old Bali, New Luxury
Villa Shanti Sari is set high above the Penet River, in the sleepy village of Tegal Kepuh, in the Kaba Kaba district of Bali's Tabanan Province. It is about 45 minutes from the Ngurah Rai International Airport, and about 25 minutes from the bustle of Canggu and Seminyak.
The Villa layout is a traditional Balinese family compound, with beautiful suites, dining and relaxing bales interlinked by lush green gardens. And it's capped off by a spectacular infinity pool, overlooking the sacred Penet River valley, where you can watch the world pass by without lifting a finger.
There are modern comforts, too - good wifi, air conditioning, and a media room - as well as a private spa suite, where you can be pampered, massaged, and drift away for an afternoon.
A million miles away is closer than you think!
Villa Shanti Sari's friendly staff is headed by our lovely local Villa Manager, Pak Made (You'll meet a lot of Made's in Bali - it's one of the local names for a second-born son - but we think our Made is one in a million!)
We have a wonderful cook, lovely housekeepers and gardener to look after you during your stay.
You will enjoy planning your days with Pak Made, and we know you will love the delicious decisions about what to eat - or leave it up to us to design your week's menu for you. Make sure you don't miss the incredible market-fresh local fruit for breakfast, and the banana pancakes, and the delicious Nasi Goreng, and.....well, you'll be spoiled for choice.
Our staff will help plan and arrange your outings, and particularly your transport.
Local knowledge goes a long way... and we're all locals at Villa Shanti Sari.
A Beautiful Setting
We love being a little off the beaten track. We're far enough out of town to let you really relax and soak up the sights and sounds of Bali without the morning roar of motorbikes past your window. The pace of village life slows to a walk, and that buzzing at sunset is the chorus of crickets in the padi fields.
If you're a Bali veteran, Villa Shanti Sari will remind you of the Bali of the '70's. We're a bit old-fashioned, and created Villa Shanti Sari to be a timeless reminder of those early days. We sprinkled some lovely old antique furniture around, restored the Villa's temples, and we cleared and replanted the sacred spirit walk below the Villa.
We think you'll agree that being part of this lovely community and supporting its ancient rituals and daily rhythms makes for an unforgettable break.
